GOP voters say Trump one gruesome murder conviction away from securing Republican nomination

Republican voters see a clear path for Donald Trump to secure the party’s nomination, according to a recent Battle Line survey. The only question is whether the former president is willing to take it.

Trump famously boasted in 2016 that he could “stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody” and not lose any voters. That may have been true then, but in the years since it appears his supporters have graduated to bigger and better things. In other words, the recent hubbub regarding hush money for porn stars and boxes of classified documents just isn’t doing it for them anymore.
