Dear Battle Line,
I recently stumbled upon an opportunity that has brought purpose and meaning to my life, and I would like to share it with your readers. I was driving through town last week when I stopped at a red light and saw a group of kids hanging out near the corner. One of them approached my passenger window and asked if I’d be willing to buy them some beer.
At first, I dismissed the young man and indicated my unwillingness. He was disappointed but didn’t put up much resistance. But as I sat there a few more moments – it was a long red light – I wondered about how many motorists they had asked, only to be turned away each time.
