‘Ohioans are psyched’: Tickets to Householder trial sell out in under a minute, StubHub confirms
Here are two words for anybody hoping to attend the Larry Householder corruption trial: Good luck!
Tickets went on sale noon Wednesday and were ferociously gobbled up by the hungry public in about 54 seconds, a StubHub spokesman said. Now, the only way to get a ticket will be to buy from a scalper or through other seedy means.
For background, former House Speaker Householder and four others were arrested in 2020 for allegedly orchestrating a $60 million racketeering scheme to pass House Bill 6, legislation to bail out two northern Ohio nuclear plants. Prosecutors have called it the largest public corruption scandal in the state’s history. Jury selection begins today.
StubHub is still best known for selling tickets to concerts and sporting events. But about five years ago, it expanded its scope to include political corruption trials. Its Ohio branch is thriving.
