The orange haze hanging over New York City this week has been linked to a massive explosion at a Tang manufacturing and storage facility in southern Canada. North winds have pushed the previously contained cloud into the northeastern United States.

Tang, the orange powdered drink few people still knew existed, can be a tasty summertime treat when diluted in water. By contrast, it can cause severe visibility and respiratory complications when launched into the atmosphere.
